There is a little town in Texas called - Ratliff, Texas I had never been there so I decided to drive to southeast Texas and check it out. So I did this last May. It is a very pretty town on the edge of a Nat. Forest (Davy Crockett Nat. Forest) As I understand, there was a Ratliff ( I think Jesse Ratliff) who use to lead wagon trains from Ga,ALA, MISS, & LA to Ratliff ,Tex One of his heirs wrote me a letter about 5 years ago telling about crossing the Mississippi river with the wagon train.
