    3. Hi folks, As an interested bystander, I wish to post for my late wife who was a Ratliff. As near as I can make it out her oldest known ancestor was Samuel Ratliff b.1788 GA wife unknown on Choctaw Co. MS 1850 census. 1 known son James Richard Ratliff b. 1810 GA died & bur.Montgomery Co.MS 1st wife Mary (?) Children Sarah A. b. 1835, Jane b.1836, Richard b. Aug 1835, m. Susan I. Bennett Samuel b. 10 Apr 1886, m. Virginia Braner Bennett 2nd wife Martha (?) Children Nancy Jane b.c1858 Emaline b.1862, m. George Beckwith Thomas Richard b.15 Aug 1862, m. Nancy Lutitia Crick Amanda Louisa b. Nov 1865, m. Thomas Daniel Blaylock James Richard b.9 Nov 1866, m. Matilda Poe Mary b. Jul 1870, m. Clem Cardy Louise b. 1872, m. Jessie Lowe William Madison, b. 2 Dec 1874, died young This is all I know about her Ratliffs. She died looking for her ancestors and I guess she found them after all. I also have a probable Ratliff in my line. My ggg-grandfather Charles Holt b. 1762 Prince William Co. VA, d. 1847 Blount Co. AL, married a Martha (?) in Franklin Co. NC 1781. Now I understand that some folks think that her maiden name was Ratliff or Rackley. They moved to Granville Co.NC, Spartenburg Co. SC, Franklin Co. GA, Dickson Co. TN, Hickman Co. TN, Rutherford Co. TN, St Clair Co. AL to finally Blount Co. AL where a John Ratliff referred to them as his aunt and uncle in a Rev War pension application. Any connection to either of these would be appreciated.
