Hello Everyone! We need to get more participating and posting to the list. I'd like to propose a new thread. I'd like for each to post their earliest Ratliff ancestor, and the direction of migration. In other words, if your ancestor landed in say, Boston, then name that ancestor, including dates, etc., and the migratory direction they took if any, across country to the place they stayed and settled. Now, keep in mind that this doesn't necessarily mean just the USA. If you have roots outside the USA that have been traced, and you can use that as the starting point, by all means do! I don't have much to offer in this, but will give what I have. My husband's GGGrandfather, Mark MODLIN, married Mary RATLIFF..... I have no information on her place of birth. They were married in Henry Co., IN. Their first two children were born in Henry Co., and then apparently they moved at some point to Blackford Co., where the remaining children were born. In 1856 they moved to Grundy Co., IA where they resided for a time. They both died in KS.
