I am researching Ratliff (Ratcliffe) in Ohio Lawrence County, Athens County, Ross County, Vinton County, Jackson County Sarah (or Mary) Ratliff (Ratcliffe?) b.1833 Twelve Poles, W. Va. (Rt 52 in Cabwaylingo State Park) married John Martin b.1826 (probably in Ohio) d.1914 in Ohio Believe Sarah's father's name to be John Ratliffe. His wife was supposed to have been a full-blooded American Indian. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of data on the Ratcliffe and the Martin families in Ohio. I am certain that my people link to many of them, just haven't been able to make the connection yet. Sarah Ratliff and John Martin had four children: 1.Janetta Jane b.5-30-1861 Ironton,Ohio d.July 1955 Vinton County, Ohio 2.Ellen 3.William ( called happy Bill) 4.Nora ( m. Homer Bledsoe) Janetta Jane Martin was married: (1st) John Slater (had son named Lewis) (2nd) Thomas Abraham Jenkins,(children: Bertha, Lizzie, Abraham,Ella) all born in Hollister, Ohio.
