In a previous mailing I explained that Canon Whitely made a 9 page list of Almondbury RADCLIFFE's IN 1886 Entries were made by Whitely in chonological order. Under dato of 1798 he made the following copy: "Entry made in Register as follows: 'It appears by a Certificate under ye hand of Charles Pinkney, Governor and Commander in Chief of ye State of South Carolina, and under ye great seal of ye said State, in the City of Charleston within ye said State, bearing date ye 30th day of November 1789, that Thomas Radcliffe of Charleston aforesaid, Esquire, was duly married to Lucretia Hust, daughter of Harman Hust of Charleston, aforesaid, ye 4th day of December 1777 by Peter Levrier, Rector, in the presence of John Farquharson, of Charleston aforesaid, physician, who has testified ye same, upon oath according to ye custom of ye said State. Which Certificate so under seal as aforesaid is lodged with ye Register of ye Parish Church of Almondbury' Canon Whitely added the following: There is no signature to this entry, nor have I met with any certificate amongst the Registers" Jim Radcliffe can not place this man Thomas among his Radcliffe ancestors of the Almondbury Parish. No Thomas Radcliffe appears on 1988 edition IGI, Yorks Baptisms from 1713 until 1799. I would like to identify this Thomas Radcliffe and suspect that some people in or from Charleston, So. Carolina or somewhere? may know who he was. Any one recognize him? Cheers Jim Radcliffe Ruidoso, New Mexico
