I have been led to believe that part of my early family (by the name of Ratcliff/Ratliff/Radcliff, etc.) lived at one time on "the south branch of the Potomac". I would like to find out where on the south branch, but I haven't seen much on the early settlement areas. Could you shed some light on it? I think that William and John Radcliff, who were hunters for the Pringle brothers, et al, around the 1760's in the Hacker's Creek area, had come from the south branch... somewhere!
