Once again I am attempting to find my great Uncle GEORGE RATLIFF. He was born in Texas, possibly Florence, Williamson County area some time between 1869 - 1870. I have no idea of his wife's name or where they actually wound up, but think some where in OKLAHOMA because in 1926 - 27 two of his children were attending school in OK. City, OK. As was their 1st cousin, Thelma C. RATLIFF. George had at least two children, and the daughter was named FRANCES. My mother at one time knew their names, but when I began to ask, her memory was fading and she could only remember the girl. George was believed to have something to do with the legal system, either a lawman or working for the law. He may have been political? George's folks - his father was Joseph RATLIFF, b. 1835 in (MO or AR.. more evidence for AR). and his mother was Francis HARRELL (that maiden name seen as HAIRRELL, HAIREL, HEAREL, etc.) Francis died a young woman, in 1886, leaving George around 16 years old at the time of her death.. within two years Joseph, George's father, had re-married to a widow with a daughter and I do not know absolutely without any doubt, but I think that widow "may" have been Sarah A. Wood(s). (they were living in Bell County, TX) George's siblings were: William, died very young and was never mentioned much Louisa "Lu", she married 1. James W. Anderson, 2. William Wright Mary, she married 1. George Howard, 2. Frank Biggers Thompson "Tom", I think Tom married a gal named May. Lee, we never were quite sure what happened to Lee Samuel, he married Glen Ruth Hutchinson Joseph, he married Elsie Rogers Ninnie Anner, died a young girl buried Florence, TX infant son, we call ANDREW.. though we can not say that was his given name, only that is what we have always referred to him as.. "Andy" Though over time, I have come to think possibly that ANDY was actually Ninnie's nick name but some how my mother gave it to the infant son who died and assumed his name to be ANDREW.. ? he is buried in Florence, Florence Cemetery, Williamson County, Texas along with Francis, and Ninnie Anner.
