01/17/98 Hello to Linda Tucker and other researchers! I just joined this mailing list and Linda's message below was the very first message that I received. Linda gave the dates for these marriages, but she did not state where these folks were when they got married. I think that it would be easier for other researchers to identify these folks if they knew in which states the marriage occurred. Is there a particular format that is typically used to give or to request information from other researchers on this distribution list? I am looking for information about a William RATLIFF who lived in Kentucky during the early 1800s. This William RATLIFF died around 1817 in Kentucky and was a minister. He had a son, James RATLIFF, who was a Primitive Baptist minister. This James RATLIFF was born in Barren County, KY, on 01/19/1798 and died in Missouri on 04/16/1860. James RATLIFF married Martha (Patsey) HIND in Barren County, KY on 03/18/1817. Martha (Patsey) HIND was born in KY on 06/29/1799 and died in Macon County, MO on 06/05/1880. James and Patsey RATLIFF moved westward to Missouri around 1817 or 1818. James RATLIFF established several Primitive Baptist Churches in Randolph County and Macon County, MO. Do any of these folks sound familiar??? Any information you have regarding these folks or their ancestors would be greatly appreciated. Norma J.
