Dee, I have the answer to your question but no more. I found him in the 1870 census. John Ratliff b. 1848 married Mary ?? b. 1850 Samuel L. age 1. But I don't know who John's parents were. In the 1870 census he is listed as being born in VA. All of my Ratliff's from Silas and Anne were born in KY. Also this John isn't living anywhere near my line and they are all living close together. In the 1880 census I can't find them. There in no John and Mary or Samuel listed. In 1900 Samuel shows up again. But no John and Mary. In 1910 it's the same as 1900. In 1920 Samuel is gone. This isn't much to go on but so far all I can find. I have several other places to look so I'll keep in touch as I find things out.
