Hello Ratliff/Ratcliff/Ratcliffe researchers..... I have uncovered a treasure trove for anyone researching the following families from Richland County, Illinois, Olney area, in the late 1850's to the 1910's, including an old bible with birth, marriage, and some death dates, a newspaper clipping from 1894 giving immegration and historical information on Thomas Ratcliff(e) and Catherine Raustead, and a great deal of photographs of family members from the 1870's to the 1950's: RAUSTEAD, (Catherine, spouse of Thomas Ratcliff(e)) LUCAS, (Emma, spouse of Luther Ratcliff(e)) RATCLIFF(E), (Thomas, Luther, Claude, Paul, Carl) MCFARLAND, (Edgar, spouse of Florence Ratcliff(e)) SURRELLS, (Oscar, spouse of Maude Ratcliff(e)) WEAVER, (Louis, spouse of Ida Ratcliff(e)) BOHNSTEDT,(Chris, spouse of Eunice Ratcliff(e)) JONES, (Bessie, spouse of Claude Ratcliff(e)) SCHIAAR(sp?), (Dorothy, spouse of Carl Ratcliff(e)) MALONE, (Mamie, spouse of Paul Ratcliff(e)) I have some pictures of children, yet identified, including the mysterious LeVena Frances Ratcliff(e), whose name is written on the back, yet no one knows who she belongs to. In the beginning of the bible, the family name is spelled RATCLIFF, however the later entries, (and family tradition as we know it), spells it RATCLIFFE, when and why the change.... no one knows. If anyone is researching any of these families, or knows of any information relating to these families, or even knows of anyone who MIGHT be looking into these families, I would appreciate hearing from them. Happy researching!! Scott Burow Hannibal, Missouri [email protected]
