    2. >From History Of Kentucky 1886 Wm. Henry Perrin page 609 2nd Lt. George F. Ratliff 45th Reg. Co. D Kentucky Mounted Infantry Volunteers Commanded by Major Lewis M. Clark Organized Summer 1863 to guard Virginia frontier and Eastern Counties of Kentucky Lt. Ratliff went on active duty Oct 1863 Engaged in: Battle of Mount Sterling June 9, 1864 Battle of Cynthiana June 12, 1864 Instrumental in destroying Morgans Army Also saw battle at Marion, Bristol, Laurel Gap and Saltville. George Ratliff also won Lot #92 , Tews Militia District, Muscogee Co., Ga. in the Cherokee Land Lottery. This was in the 1976 Bicentennial History of Gordon Co., Ga., by Burton Bell. Have no idea if this is the same George Ratliff. I am not researching this man but found the notes in my Ratliff file and thought it might help somone. Billie Ratliff Staggs
