However, it was not meant to be. Through personal contact with his children, my uncles and aunt, I know what I missed. Grandpa Wilburns's life style has not ventured much from that of his father and grandfather. As with his father he answered the public call to serve as Tax Collector for Lafayette County. He served an unblemished tenure of ten years. In early years Grandpa Wilburn was a member of the Masonic Order. At a later time he united with Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church.
