I am looking for the parents of Alfred Eli or Ely Ratliff b Jan 24,1837 Lawrence County, TN moved to Obion County, TN with his parents while still a boy. Soon after he was orphaned and grew up in the home of George Parks. His first wife was Mary Hill Parks. His second wife was Mary Mosier. 1850 is the first time I find him listed anywhere. A E was listed in the 1850 Lawrence County, TN census with the Parks age 14. In 1860 he is still with the Park family on now in Obion County, Troy Dist. 3. The 1870 Obion County census list Ratcliff A E 33, Mary H 28, Robert H 3, Rebecca 10/12. I have also been told that Alfred may have been born in N or S Carolina and came to TN with his parents as a young boy. I don't know where to turn to find records of him.
