I'm looking for a man by the last name of Ratliff (or soundex) that was living in Mississippi (possibly Amite Co.) around 1911. This would be the father of my paternal grandmother Lilia Louise. She was raised by her mother Mary Smith (daughter of William) and her step - father Marshall Rice. I have been told two different stories by elderly aunts. That the real father ran off when my grandmother was 3 (about 1914); and that he was struck by lighting and killed when she was 3. Any clues?
