We have a James Pinkney Ratliff s/o Joseph Ratliff and Sarah Barrentine b. 1850 in Attala Mississippi. I don't know if this family line was in Pike County, but this family was heading south to Louisiana. You also mentioned the name of Green, which caught my eye. Joseph & Sarah's children were William, Margaret, George, James P., GREENBERRY, Martha, and Joseph. Greenberry, is an unusual name, and thought perhaps it may have come from someone inthe line named Green. Could our James b. 1850 possibly be the one you are looking for?? Would be happy to exchange infor with anyone searching the RATLIFF / RATCLIFF LINES. You can reach us on the forum or email is radcliff-family@attbi.com Thanks for any assistance. My gg-grandfather's third wife was Nancy Green, she was the sister of his son-in-law William Green. I know it's confusing, but until they started moving north, our tree didn't have many branches.

I am trying to locate a Ratliff who lived there in the 1840's. If any know of one with a son named James who was born in about 1848, he may be the one I am searching for. Any information would be appreciated.
I am sorry but I did not respond to your message about the Ratliff's. My computer was in the shop for two weeks and I got it back last Monday and I had twelve viruses on it. I have gotten messages from people that I have no idea who they are and with all kind of messages. Sorry.
