This is a real long shot though. We are searching the Ratliff line also, and believe our Joseph Ratliff was possibly born in Tennessee about 1815?? Searching for parents & Siblings. Joseph married a Sarah Barrentine in Miss. and removed to Louisiana. We also have an Elizabeth Gibson, who married an H. P. Simmons in DeSoto Parish Louisiana in 1861. Wonder if this is any connection to your Simmons, or Ratliff?? She then married our Joseph Ratliff in Louisiana about 1864. Would be happy to exchange information with you if you think it might be helpful.

Has anyone transcribed the Rev. War papers from Rueben b 1762 Augusta Co., VA d 1852 Morgan Co., KY. I just received copies of copies and they are so hard to read. Would be nice to compare notes to see if we can come up with all the wording. Marge

The information I have come up with is that my Great Great Grandfather, GW Ratliff 1 married Emma Jane Poole and they had 4 children. GW Ratliff 2, Rose Ella Ratliff, Luther Ratliff, and Lee Ratliff which died as a baby. My Great Grandfather GW Ratliff 2 married Etteen Arnold and they had 1 child named Hubert Ruel Ratliff. GW Ratliff 1 and Emma J Poole were born in Alabama and at some point moved to Texas. They and their descendants lived in and around the Corsicana Tx area. Some of the places they lived are Chandler, Athens, Kerens, Waxahachie, and FT Worth. I have also been given the names Sarah Jane Ratliff and Willie C Poole. I am thinking that GW Ratliff 1 and Sarah Jane Ratliff were brother and sister that married sister and brother Emma J and Willie C Poole. Does anybody know about these folks?
