We have been in search of family history on this couple for a very long time. Hiram moved to Detroit Michigan (Wayne County) where he passed away in 1976. He had a brother that had lived there also. My thinking is that some of the Detroit Michigan Ratliff's posted here in ancestry, just might be of the same decendents as of the Pikeville Co. Ky Ratliff's. Hiram's first wife still lives in Pikeville ( Mossy Bottom). She is the only one that Hiram had children with. Thomas, Judtith and Buell (my husband). I'm hoping that we can exchange some information with each other. Oh yes, This would mean that you are 1st cousin to my husband. If im correct.....Please contact me at sratl1@attbi.com............Sincerely: Sandy Ratliff

Surnames: Ratliff, McNutt Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RGCBAEB/888 Message Board Post: Nancy Ratliff McNutt, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Ratliff, was born 18 Feb 1847 and died 14 Jan 1904, age 56y 10m 26d. She was one of a family of eleven children, 6 girls and 5 boys. She was born in Greenville (Darke Co. OH), and lived here all her life except the years from 1867 to 1879, when she was with her family in Missouri. She was the mother of 9 children; 4 daughters and 3 sons survive her, two sons having preceded her to the silent world. She had 23 grandchildren, 18 of whom are living. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers. Her husband died in 1878, leaving her with the care of 7 children. With unfaltering faith she faced her duty and did it well. She was a member of the Seven Star Rebekah Lodge of this city, with which she united 11 years ago last May. She also united with the Pocahontas Lodge of this city in 1901. She united with the Christian church in early girlhood and lived a christian life. She was a kind and living mother, a true friend and a sincere christian. There is no newspaper name or date of paper indicated on this obit clipping. I did photocopy this clipping while on a research trip to Greenville, Darke Co. Ohio several years ago. This McNutt family is not of my direct line. ...Marysue.....

    3. I'm looking for information on a Mullenox or Mollonex Ratliff. Probably from Va. or Maryland. This line supposedly comes down to my Silace Ratliff who was born about 1789 and died about 1834 in Tazewell county, Kentucky. Silace married a nancy ??? abt. 1812 or so. Silace and Nancy has several children: Richard, Peter, Moses, Benjamin, Burrell, John Jr.. This line eventually came to Pike Co. Kentucky. Does anyone know anything about these lines or any websites that could help? Also, I've been trying to tie into the families of Shadrack, Abendago and Meshack Ratliff. I think Charlotte White was the mother of one or two of these boys.... Thanks So much and any help is very much appreciated.. Alta Fay Ratliff P.S. I just wanted to add that I'm not searching for this information in order to make a book or anything of that nature. Just in case anyone might be leary to share their information because they are wanting to make books... (I've run across this several times) I'm purely interested in my roots for the pleasure of knowing and to pass on to my children. I feel that by knowing how our ancestors lived, worked, loved and died, we have a blueprint for our future... :-)) ===== Happy Hunting & Best Wishes Always, Alta Fay Ratliff Henderson Owner of: PikeCoKY_Ratliff_Spears@yahoogroups.com Researching the surnames of: Ratliff, Spears, Childers, Cantrell, Adkins, Stewart, Roberts, Newsome, Mullins, Damron, Tackett, Cox, Sanders & Branham. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
