I have a serious brick wall on my RANSOM line from Mississippi and am hoping someone might recognize some of the names that follow: Unknown father RANSOM (some say Elvin was his name - no evidence yet) m. Ann Stacy (unproven yet) and they had at least 4 children together (2 known to be b. MS) as follows - 1) Asa "Acie" RANSOM b. ca 1876 MS m. Maggie TATE 2) George Edward RANSOM b. ca. 1880 MS (found in Monroe Co., MS 1920) m. Ida Lizzy TATE 3) Maynard RANSOM m. Unk. Strawhorn 4) Mary RANSOM (lived in Colorado as an adult) and (likely illegitimate) - unknown mother - 5) Unk. RANSOM male - family rumor says this child was half African American and moved from MS to CA at some point - have no evidence at all on this one other than a family story.
