I'll include what details I know, much of it is still spotty and unconfirmed. Richard Payne RANSOME b. 1752 Isle of Wight, VA m. Keziah PORTIS (b. 1763 Franklin, NC) on 10 Oct 1784 in Halifax Co. NC. Richard Payne RANSOME died 22 Jul 1827 in Murphreesboro, TN. I only have one child listed for Richard and Keziah, Robert RANSOME b. 1785 Franklin Co., NC. Robert married Mary HARRIS 13 Mar 1828 Clarke Co., AL. I have Richard Payne RANSOME'S parents listed as James RANSOME Jr. (b. 1729) & Amey DAVIS m. 1751. James Jr.'s parents are listed as James RANSOME (b. abt. 1700) & ? CATHOWAY. I've seen some discussion lately regarding a James RANSOM III who m. Priscilla JONES. Any connection?
