She was born in Pulteney, November 16, 1859, the daughter of Elizabeth Garrison and Peter Ransom. She was united in marriage to Orlando Overhiser, October 15, 1878, in Bath. Mr. Overhiser died about four years ago. She had always lived in Pulteney with the exception of several years that she and her husband spent in Wheeler. Mrs. Overhiser was a member of the Methodist church and the Pulteney auxillary. She also belonged to the Maccabees. She was always interested and active in the affairs of the church and community until her health would no longer permit. She leaves five children; Mrs. E.R. Holley of Altmar, Mrs. Ward Finger of Elmira and Mrs. Laurence Doty, Sluman Overhiser and Byron Overhiser of Pulteney; a brother, James Ransom of Prattsburg; seven grandchildren and two nephews. The funeral was held from the home Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Swales and Rev. Scofield officiating. Interment in Glen View Cemetery, Pulteney, NY. Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Miss Rose Overhiser and Charles Overhiser of Bath, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Emery of Savona, Mr. and Mrs. Thayer and Miss Lillian DeBolt of Penn Yan, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Shader, Henry Shader and F.F. Lewis of Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ransom and Mr. and Mrs. James Ransom of Prattsburg and Mr. and Mrs. Judson Ransom of Urbana.
