RANSOM, 84, died Oct. 14 at home. Born in Lake County, Ill., he was the former owner of the Spencerville Elevator and the Party Shop in Butler. Surviving are his wife, Alma; four sons, Eddie Allen of Avilla, Roger Lee of Kimmell, Dennis Kay of Auburn and Curtis J. of Spencerville; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Clark of Auburn; a brother, James of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Ransom was the former owner of the Spencerville Elevator and formerly owned the Party Shop in Butler. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Concord Lodge 556 and the Auburn Moose Lodge. He was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Lake County, Ill., to A.E. and Blanche (Kirk) Ransom. He married Alma (Bartell) Ransom on Sept. 11, 1938, in LaGrange. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, Eddie Allen Ransom of Avilla; Roger Lee Ransom of Kimmell, Dennis Kay Ransom of Auburn and Curtis J. Ransom of Spencerville; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Clark of Auburn; a brother, James Ransom of Coeur D'alene, Idaho; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in White City Cemetery, Spencerville. There will be no calling. Feller Funeral Home of Waterloo is in charge of arrangements.
