You are no doubt a Fitz Randolph, descended from Edward "the Pilgrim" who came to Massachusetts in 1630 and later moved to New Jersey. Try to get your hands on these two books: "The Descendants of Edward Fitz Randolph and Elizabeth Blossom, 1630-1950", by Louise A. Christian and Howard S. F. Randolph (first published in the Journal of the New England Historic Genealogy society and then published in 1950, with a supplement in 1950. The second was compiled by Oris H. F. Randolph of Anamosa, Iowa, in 1976 under the title"Edward Fitz Randolph Branch Lines; Allied Families and English and Norman Ancestry." They are reasonably dependable and will save you months of reinventing the wheel. The family in England left a good paper trail, so there are lots of records there as well. Good luck!
