Randolph that your ancestor wasn't found in the major genealogies of the family and thus cast some doubt on whether you were actually a Fitz Randolph. I want to add that there are some members of that family that never made it into the genealogies, and I speak from experience. If you study the Christian Genealogy you will find a number of people with "no further record" after their names. That doesn't mean that they just died out! But there can be records of them in NJ. (My "lost" ancestor left records there) Your search will not be easy but try through census, military, probate and other records to get them back to a specific county in NJ. That will narrow down the area where you'll have to search. Good luck.
