A Reposting: I wonder if anyone knows of a link between the Randolph and Preston families in VA. I have a family tradition of descent from the VA Randolphs and a James Preston (d. c. 1842, TN) who named a child Randolph Preston. James married Charlotte Rector, prior to 1795. Charlotte Rector was born in Farquier Co., VA. James Preston was most likely also from VA. Both probably died in Rhea Co., TN. James had a will recorded in Rhea Co., TN in 1842 and a deed recorded in the same co. in 1839. All ideas appreciated. Jim Robinson
