Hi, I don't have all the dates, but my grandfather was named Robert BUCK Randolph from Missouri. According to folk lore he rode with Jesse James.. His father came from Virginia -- I do think he had a least one sister. He never told anyone about his pass. He died in 1902 when my father was 8. My grandmother died when I was 4, so my father nor me had much time to ask questions. My grandparents lived in Jackson Co., Mississippi when they were married.. Talk in the little town they lived was that he and the Jesse James thing was so--- this was in the late 40s. All the land they owned was in my grandmothers name. That is about all the info I have on him, but would love to tie him in with some roots. I have searched everywhere-- Hope you can make some connections-- Age wise, your Robert could be the father of Robert Buck Randolph. Are you sure that is all of the children? I know 9 is a lot all ready. <smile> Alice D from Mississippi RANDOLPH-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Subject: > > RANDOLPH-D Digest Volume 01 : Issue 57 > > Today's Topics: > #1 Mary Melissa Randolph [sjchaddock@arkbluecross.com] > #2 Re: Nellie Randolph [sjchaddock@arkbluecross.com] > #3 Searching for Robert Randolph ["LB" <arrenia@ctaz.com>] > #4 William J. I am trying to locate information on William Robert Randolph and his wife Mellissa Jane Lane. They lived in Knoxville, Tennessee and may have orginated from Virginia. This is all the information I have on my great-grandparents. They had two children, Leta and Robert. Leta I. Randolph; born Feb. 9, 1884 (or 1886), died June 18, 1967. She never married or had children. Robert Vivian Randolph; born Mar. 16, 1890 (or 1891), died May 11, 1962. His wife was Pauline Gertrude Anderson; born June 2, 1892, died May 14, 1961. I would appreciate any information that might be available. My sister and I are having a difficult time finding any information about our Randolph heritiage. Phyllis
Carolee, I doubt if the Wm. J. Randolph on the 1850 census is the one you want. He was listed as the head of household instead of a dependent. The one I am looking for was the father of John F., my great-grandfather. Thanks so much for replying. Sorry I can't be of help. Harriette lalyco@mindspring.com
Hi, I just subscribed to the list. I have finally documented a connection to the Randolph family. I am searching for: Robert Randolph, from the 1850 census, I estimate he was born about 1787, in Virginia. He married Elizabeth Davis and they moved to somewhere in Tennessee. By 1835, the family was living in Callaway County, Missouri. Robert died in 1860, his will lists the following children: Robert D. Randolph birth est 1813 - listed in 1850 census is Callaway County, MO Eleanor Bigbee (not found in Callaway County) Richard Randolph (not found in Callaway County) William Randolph (not found in Callaway County) Thomas Randolph (not found in Callaway County) Catherine Nevins (Catherine Randolph married Thomas Nevins 26 Sept 1835 in Callaway County) Jane Randolph (Jane married Edmund Pemberton then Samuel Blount) Harriett Randolph (listed with parents Robert and Elizabeth in 1850, no marriage found) Eliza Carrington (Eliza Randolph married John Carrington 21 Dec 1837 in Callaway County, she died before 1860. Robert mentions her children in his will. So... my question, is anyone else researching this family? Where in Virginia were they from and where in Tennessee did they live before moving to Missouri? Leslie Bell Arizona
This is the lineage we're associated with but do you have any documentation regarding the indian heritage? Thanks, sandee My e-mail is BlueU32@aol.com or sjchaddock@arkbluecross.com

Rootsweb was down last night so this did not get a chance to get to the list. Thus I am resending it. Who is the Mary Melissa Randolph that you are referring to? I seem to have missed the post that you are replying to. I have one who married Abram B. Romine in IL. Is that the correct one? If so, the name Knight is not ringing any bells. Renee L. Ross Co. Ohio marriages (1799-1850) Lists the following Randolph entries: Catherine Randolph m. Obed Harrison(1838),Catherine Randolph m. Nathaniel Piper(1847), David Randolph m. Sarah Ogden(1829), David Randolph m. Lydia Dawson(1834)James Randolph m.Rebecca Vanscoy(1837),John Randolph m.Pricilla Butler(1830), Phoebe Randolph m.John Parker(1834), Robert Randolph m. Elizabeth Brown((1845), Sarah Ogden m. John Stewart(1839). A few questions: Are these all from the same family of Randolphs? In the Ross Co. census there is a William Randolph whom I suspect may be their parent. I am a descendant of David Randolph and Sarah Ogden. Also of their daughter, Anne and Joseph Collins. I would be happy to share notes with the descendants of any of these Randolphs. c6495s@hintonet.net
