    3. I don't know if this is important or not, but I felt I had to offer this. For many years my family, and then I after I married, subscribed to a paper "The Christian Observer," published by the (southern?) Presbyterian Church in Richmond. It's so similar to the one mentioned, I wondered if Methodist could have been wrong, or if there were two of these papers. Thanks for the Olden Times - I really enjoy it. ----- Original Message ----- From: <theoldentimes@aol.com> To: <RANDOLPH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 23, 2002 12:51 AM Subject: CARRINGTON-RANDOLPH Marriage, Virginia, 1877 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: CARRINGTON, RANDOLPH, JONES > Classification: Marriage > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HOCBAIB/974 > > Message Board Post: > > Hi, > > I just posted an old newspaper announcement of the marriage of Percy CARRINGTON to Mary Harrison RANDOLPH, daughter of Beverly RANDOLPH of Clarke Co., VA. > > This was scanned from an original issue of The Christian Observer (a Methodist newspaper published in Louisville, KY) dated August 1, 1877, and you can see it online here: > > http://theoldentimes.com/carringrand77va.html > > I hope it's helpful! > > Barbara > http://theoldentimes.com > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >

So of his children or grandchildren came her to Lawrence Co.,Al some time after my GG grandmother Mary Caldoine "Mollie" Randolph Braswell Meisner died. Story goes that she has thought that he died in OK, cause there was a man found dead in a cave that had a quilt that my GG grandmother had made for him, the quilt had something on that lead it back to her.
