Louis, Here is what I have on Sanford Ramey. I don't know if this is the same Sanford Ramey you have, but the dates fit. However, the location doesn't. Sanford Ramey, son of John Ramey and Edith Browning, born Christmas Day 1782 in Culpepper(or Culpeper, not sure of the spelling) County, Virginia, and died July 7, 1854 in Muskingum Township, Muskingum County, Ohio at the age of 72. His first wife was Catherine Gayer, married Oct. 21, 1813. His second wife was Susanna Wells, married Aug.24, 1824. This same Sanford Ramey taught school in a cabin on the road between Dreadon and Shannon in 1816. This was the first school in Muskingum County. I doubt if this Sanford is the one you have because he seemed to have spent most of his life in Ohio, not Virginia, even though he was born there.
