Bonnie: On some of my Ramey lines, I am not sure where in Kentucky they came from and it could very well be Montgomery County. Most of mine started in Virginia and then to Kentucky and then to Ohio. Lots in Ohio. It may be to your advantage to check the Census Index (if one is available to you on your Davis line) I only had 1 day and that isn't nearly enough. Platte City has a great genealogical society and many books of reference. Am wondering if there isn't a connection to the John Ramey Will on your line since his nephew Davis Ramey was an heir, and it may have been Davis that filed the Will in Platte County. I would say it was worth checking in the 1850 etc census for Platte County, Missouri. Davis is such an unusual first name, it would seem to me that he may have been named after a relative. Just a thought. So glad I could help you. I try and post all the information that I get even if it is not certain that they are of my line. I also appreciate any clues that anyone can give me.
