Cindi, It was determined that the early origin of the name Ramey could have come from ancient Egypt and was a version of Ramesis. Ramesis the Great was one of the most powerful Pharaohs of Egypt. Armed with this information, we began a dialog between some of us over who was more closely related to Ramesis. Since Ramesis had 175 children, it was decided that we all could be. Marsil seem to think that she was more royal than the rest of us because she looked more like Elizabeth Taylor. We let her think that so as not to hurt her feelings. Then Jeannie, I think it was Jeannie, thought she looked like Queen Nefertiti. Of course, everyone knows that I look more like Nefertiti, but we won't go into that now. Then we began to fight over who should were the Crown of Isis. Isis was an Egyptian Goddess. We decided that Marsil could wear it because her ancestors were more "Interesting" than ours were. You don't really want to know how "interesting". At this point, some of the more serious researchers on the mailing list got angry because we were discussing this " Egyptian Thing" instead of doing research. They scolded us for being so inconsiderate and being throughly ashamed, we stopped talking about it. Now that the "Egyptian Thing" has reared its ugly head again, we may get scolded again. I feel so bad about this. It brings back terrible memories of childhood when my mother would scream at me, "SHUT UP, YOU LITTLE BRAT." Now you know. Please don't get us into trouble.
