May 2, 1820, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hauck, who lives west of Lamar, Aug 4, 1920 at the age of 100 years, 3 months and 2 days. !At the age of 10 years she moved with her parents to Lodi, Indiana , in 1835 she was married to Isaac Ramey and to this union eleven chi ldren were born, six of whom preceeded her to the better world. One son, Phillip, was killed in the Civil War, May 23, 1863. From Lodi, the family moved to Guinville, Iowa where her husband died in 1857 . In 1857, she moved to Kansas and settled on the homestead where she died. !In 1872 she became a charter member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church , known as the Hall Church and remained faithful forty-eight years. !Grandma Ramey lived a quiet, retired life. For many years she has b een blind and in recent years she has been confined to her bed. He r daughter, Mrs. Hauck has tenderly and lovingly cared for her for ma ny years. !Mrs. Ramey is survived by three sons and two daughters, nineteen gra ndchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren and thirty-seven great g reat grand children.she loved. May God bless her memory to all the loved ones who mourn their loss. !She passed away without a pain or struggle; her peaceful ? being an ? to her restful soul and it bespoke her faith and hope in the Christ neral was attended by many of the relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Hall Church Friday afternoon at two o'clock and the body was laid to rest in the Hall cemetery. The writer preached the sermon from Ps..73: 24, :Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel and afterwards receive me to glory." Sugject--"How to reach Glory Land. Davis, Mpls. age 30 were married 27 Oct 1890 witness Hattie Wintermith Dist Ct. Ottawa Co. KS Generation No. 2 2. ASA ARTHUR2 RAMEY (ISAAC JAMES1) was born Abt. 1840. ASA ARTHUR3 RAMEY, m. MABEL GRACE MCGLOTHLEN. 3. CHARLOTTE ELLEN2 RAMEY (ISAAC JAMES1) was born February 02, 1852 in Lodi, IN, and died June 26. She married JOHN FISHER HAUCK August 23, 1868. Notes for CHARLOTTE ELLEN RAMEY: !Obituary: Charlotte Ellen Hauck, daughter of Isaac and Martha Ramey was born Feb. 2 1852, at Lodi, Indiana. At the age of four years she moved with her parents to Belle Plains, Iowa where she grew to young womanhood and in the year 1867 moved with her mother and brothers to Ottawa Co., KS , where on Aug. 23, 1868 she was united in marriage to John F. Hauck . They immediately returned to Belle Plains, Iowa where they resided until 1883 when they returned to Ottawa Co., KS where she had resided the greater part of the time since. !She was the mother of seven children, all of whom are living with the exception of one. The children are Will, of Miltonvale, KS, Mrs. Jennie Feather of May, Oklahoma; George, deceased; L. B. of Miltonvale ; Mrs. Grace Coleman of Monrovia, California; Mrs. Mattie Moore of Waverly, KS and Ross of Oak Hill, Kansas. All were present but Mrs. Coleman. !Her husband preceded her in death seventeen years. Mrs. Hauck was the last of her parent's children to answer the final call. She was converted at about the age of 35 years in a meeting held at the Hall church and united with the Wesleyan Church and remained a member until death. On account of failing health she went to her daughter's (Mrs. J. H. Moore) home on the 30th of May where she was lovingly cared for until she passed peacefully away at 7:00 am on June 24, being 80 years , 4 months and 22 days of age. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends . Funeral services were held at the Delphos Mort. Notes for JOHN FISHER HAUCK: >From a letter from Gladys (Hauck) Wells dated April 7, 1990- They went to the Hall Church Cemetery where the Great Grands are buried and some other relatives. They were glad to visit old familiar places plus several older friends graves were there and she guessed we knew but had forgotten . It was where Grandad Hauck grew up 25 miles from here and Gran Hauck grew up from 7 years old on about 10-12 miles Minneapolis, They came to Minneapolis Kansas by stage coach and Gram remembered having a wet handkerchief over her nose and mouth cause the dust was raised by the wheels bad in places. !Grandad Hauck said there were 5 boys, all spelled there name like they wanted to after they left east coast. Lived close to Mongahelia, you could take your shovel and pick up coal on the side of the mtn. some didn't spell it Hauck some used Hawk. !Glady's supposed they came from Germany but could have been Dutch-Welch Children of CHARLOTTE RAMEY and JOHN HAUCK are: i. Notes for MATTIE HAUCK: !Glady's say's Aunt Mat Moore lived in Waverly, Kansas down east. !She also states that there were 5 children. iv. GRACE HAUCK, m. ARTHUR COLEMAN. Notes for GRACE HAUCK: !Gladys Wells in her notes says that there was l child. v. ROSS HAUCK, m. EFFIE FRASER. Notes for ROSS HAUCK: !Gladys told this story: Lard was in the cave-Martha was suppose to use what was put out, Uncle Ross loved biscuits and she had used all the lard and he wanted biscuits- his mother told her not to go in the cave for move - he went and got the lard.
