Kathy, I am indeed planning to write a new history on the Ramey/Remy/Rhamy family, and am now in the data gathering stage. My intention is to include the families of those individiuals who had the Ramey (and other spellings) name at birth, and the lineages to their Ramey forefather of those individuals who contributed to its success. I am finding this to be a big job as there are thousands of Ramey families extant across the United States and Canada. The vast majority of them are descendants of Jacob and Mary Remy of Westmoreland County, VA. I show the John Ramey who married Catherine Hardin as the son of Samuel and Hannah (Tomlin) Remy.
