Cox and Elizabeth WHALEY Cox) With permission of The CYNTHIANA DEMOCRATE, Page 4, 3 Jan 1952 Mrs. Edward Charles COX Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth WHALEY COX, 84, wife of Edward Charles Cox, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Whaley Funeral Home conducted by Rev. T. J.MATTINGLY. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers selected were Allen and Darden RAVENSCRAFT, Edward Lee COX, Delbert SMITH, Charles COX and Raymond LYONS. Mrs. Cox died at 6 a.m. Sunday Dec. 30, 1951, at her resicence on Wilson Ave. A native of Bourbon County, Mrs. COX was born Oct. 17, 1867, a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Nancy POTTS WHALEY. Her father as a native of Bourbon County and her mother was a native of Nicholas County. Mrs. COX was a member of the Cynthiana Christian Church and had spent practically all of her life in Cynthiana. Besides her husband to whom she was married Nov. 27, 1889, Mrs. COX is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J.C. SMITH, Paris; Mrs. C.L. ATKINSON, Flemingsburg; Miss Alice Cox, Moorehead; and Mrs. A.H. BALES, Brooksville; three sons, William R. COX, Bowling Green; Edward C. COX Jr., and Lewis N. COX, both of Lexington.
