Jim, I have read your comments about the Ramey Weird Research web site. I originally signed on the the Ramey Roots web site in order to try to obtain additional info about my Ramey family's background. It seems that day after day the e-mails emanating from the Ramey site seem to multiply. After thinking about this, I went to my PC's Personal File Cabinet to check just how many e-mails I may have received as a result of being tuned into the Ramey Roots site. My rough count indicates that since 8/1/98 I have received a total of 218 e-mails from this one site. Probably half of these messages are of a personal nature amongst perhaps a half dozen Ramey kinfolk. The web site reminds of me the old days where one might be on a telephone partyline and along with me and the central telephone operator, I could also be on line with up to ten other individuals. So I presently consider the Ramey Roots web site to be an updated version of my old telephone partyline. I reckon the Rameys have been scammed (Bob Wright?) and spammed (You know who you are) and now slammed by me and a few others. Serious research or cute comments or casual communications--they may all be here--just a matter of wading through all of the Ramey verbiage. So along with research one may also obtain some personal chatter and a dose of Ramey warmth. As TV has an Off button--this web site has an Unsubscribe button. The really great thing about the internet is that it does afford us all to either be in touch or to lurk. Did I ever tell you the one about my Uncle Lurk Ramey? With kindest of thoughts, William Ramey, IN
