Bryan are Rameys, as are the descendants of Thomas Underwood. But I still worry that I am getting a little off topic here. I apologize to Ramey researchers in advance if I am too far off topic. The short answer to your question is, yes, your data agrees with my records. My Bryan data base is on my Web site at http://www2.pstcc.cc.tn.us/~jbryan/ I don't have anything on my Web site yet that would include Mary Ramey. I have only just started looking at my Ramey line. There are two Bryan trees on my Web site -- one for Brien O'Brien and one for Peter Bryan. It's really just one tree, but I broke it into two pieces for presentation purposes. Brien O'Brien was the immigrant from Ireland, and his great grandson Peter Bryan was the first Bryan into Tennessee in 1789 or 1790 (except it wasn't Tennessee yet). For the first few generations, the spelling of the last name was quite fluid -- O'Brien, O'Brian, O'Bryan, Bryan, Brian, Bryant, Briant, etc. as the Irish name became Anglicized (the English/Irish thing was going on way back then, even in this country). I am sure that I have a lot of distant cousins who spell their last name with some of the variant spellings. There are a lot of Bryan/Underwood marriages in East Tennessee, Bryan/Drinnen, Bryan/Cate, Bryan/Harrison, Bryan/Cox, etc. But I haven't found any Bryan/Ramey marriages in East Tennessee. As I said in my last message, as far as East Tennessee goes Mary Ramey seems to be a one of a kind and she married an Underwood. I also have Samuel Callahan/Calahan as the father of Margaret, but I do not have anything on Samuel's parents.
