James Hearn, son of Levi Griffin & Aura (White) Hearne, was born June 10, 1839, and died Jan. 14, 1913. In 1867 he was in mercantile business at Frenchville, WV, but he sold out in 1870 and removed to Kansas. He returned to WV in 1873 and took up mecantile business in Mercer Co. He contined in this kind of business for several years, and afterward engaged in railroad grading. He has served two terms in the WV legislature, from Mercer Co.. In politics he is a Republican, in religion a Methodis. He married, February 19, 1861, Ester Catherine Deweese. Mar 20, 1870 married James Templeton Akers.
