Ancestry.com recently put the WPA Graves Registration records on their site. I need to warn all Remy cousins that the info for Lewis Remy [son of Lewis and Margaret Lamb Remy] is waaay waaay wrong. Birth is listed as 1870 and death as 16 April 1935. When I found those records some months ago, I wrote to the Davis Co. IA Gen Soc about the error. Their president checked and agreed that it is quite wrong but those records are all over the country and the Net. Possibly the tombstone was marble and the dates were badly eroded. Lewis was born 18 June 1830 in Hocking Co Ohio, married Hester Ann Davis 26 August 1851 In Vinton Co. Ohio. According to the Davis Co. IA county history, they had one boy and one girl. Lewis died 18 April 1895 in Davis Co. IA and had no surviving heirs, although a land dispute with his son-in-law ended up in the Iowa Supreme Court. Ann
