Hi Jean - Thanks for your efforts on behalf of all of us Ramey's out there. I continue to struggle with the tie of my line which came to Texas from Mississippi to the Virginia line. Information that I have and need are as follows: George W. (either William or Washington depending on the source) and William Francis came to Texas in 1959 from Chickasaw or Calhoun County Mississippi. They apparently had a brother William Neale who also came to TX. According to the Dr's book they had a brother named Garn and according to family a half brother Sam. In addition, William Francis was living in the same house as a Joseph Ramey b 1830 in Monroe County, MS in 1850. According to family, William Neale (Sr) was their father but have been unable to prove and do not know the mother. George W (c 1825-1895) b Alabama m Jane (maybe Martha Jane Langston) b Alabama. They are on the 1850 Chickasaw County MS census with son John Milton (b1848). I need to know George W's first wife's complete name and need some evidence George subsequently married Margaret Hooper and Mrs. Helen Briwin. George's brother William Francis b 1831 in Georgia and died 1917 in Texas. Both brothers settled in Trinity, TX and I have good information from then on and as always will be happy to share if any of you are interested in this line. George's children were Margaret Elizabeth d at age 5, John Milton b 11/11/1847, Joseph Robert b 1852 (my line), William Virgil b 10/2/1855, and George Columbus b 6/27/1857. Known children of William Francis are William E. Ramey, b. 1872, Alphous M. Ramey, b 1874, Martha J Ramey b 11/23/1893, Donnie b 1857, Joseph , b 1859, George b 1865, Clarence E, b 1867, Laura b 1869. Any information would be appreciated. Thomas R.
