Benjamin Bates Nov. 9, 1888 in Wise County. Mariah Allis was the d/o Daniel Ramey & Dicy Catherine Hall. They both said they were residents at the time of marriage. They then disappear from 1888 until 1910 Allice Bates is in the Knott Co. KY census age 42 a widow with the children. In the 1900 Knott census two of the children-Ditha Ann & John Wilson are living with Hall's ( where were the rest of the kids and where were Ben and Allis up to that time)? Lewis Remy was in Luray VA 1807-1816. He and his 2nd wife Margaret Lamb sold a lot in Luray on 16 Sept 1816 and are next found in Ohio. Need parents of Lewis Remy, Margaret Lamb and of his first wife, Hannah Bateman. Both marriages took place in Shenandoah County VA [became Page Co. after 1831]. Mary, My Ramey's are Daniel + Dicy Hall, Jacob Ramey + Sarah Blevins, et al. Daniel and Dicy are the parents of my great grandmother Mariah Allis (Alice) Ramey that married Benjamin Bates s/o William Bates + Eleanor (Nelly) Hall. Ben and Allis married in Wise, Val in 11-1888 and completely disappeared until two of their children show up in 1900 Knott Co. KY census living with Hall's.
