Our website, which consists mostly of Rameys and related lines, is still available at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/1613 However, it hasn't been corrected or added to for over a year because we moved here to Missouri and the Internet just got here about 6 weeks ago. To those of you who sent corrections and additions, thanks again and don't give up yet, we're working on it. We will let you know when up-date is made, so you can check and see if we missed anything. Too many to post, but site is easily accessible. Our branch stayed south, but if yours is of the Yankee persuasion, you might check it out. Don and Bess Ramey

Wilma, Just wanted to let you know that I received my books today. Thank you for this service to the list. The books are great. Lois Arhtur :
Hi Marsil, You sent me some info on Sanford and Jemima Ramey a while back--not sure if I got back to you...I was a little confused by the notes...The Sanford Ramey (Sr.) that I have married Elizabeth Dunn and died in Loudoun Co, VA 1823-8. Their daughter was Jemima b. 1802, m. 1817 in Henry Co, VA to John Hereford I, and died after 1845. (The Herefords were from Fairfax Co, VA if that helps). Does anyone know any other children of Sanford? I assume there was a Sanford, Jr...Does anyone know anything on Elizabeth Dunn? How does Violet family connect? Did Sanford Sr maybe have a sister Jemima who married a Violet? thanks! Cyndi
Hi Mildred, That was quick, I just sent them out yesterday. I am so glad that you are pleased with them. The postage was a dollar more than what the lady at the post office originally told me. she weighed my books without the envelope and told me it would be 4.00, and when I went to mail them out she said it was 5.00 I asked her what happened and she said the envelope made it go over a few ounces and that made it 5.00. I am not telling you this for you to send me the extra dollar, I guess a cousin can help each other out one in a while. I am just glad you got the books ok, and you are pleased with them. Good luck in your research. Cousin Wilma At 09:25 PM 9/29/98 -0400, you wrote: >Hi Wilma > >I received THE BOOKS today - I am very pleased. Thank you so very much for > >doing this for us. Marsil, I hope when OG recked that truck, he didn't hurt those tomatoes. I'll bet he's not a Ramey, right? Lois Arthur in Indiana [email protected]
Wonder if that Documentation and Publications thing really works. Everytime I have tried the interlibrary loan stuff it has been unsucessful. When I first wanted THE BOOK,I requested an interlibary loan. I knew it could be done. Another Remy researcher had gotten it that way-from Wm. & Mary College. So I tried-the only reply was a library from OR-they would not send the book but would copy pages for me-my problem was I didn[t know which pages I wanted. So I skipped that. Another time I wanted "The Burying Grounds of Lee Co VA:"-the NYC public library answered but they wanted $20.00 deposit and it was non refundable. I would have almost bought the book for that-think the book was $30.00. Have you ever had any luck with this? Just gotta tell you-OG took a large sack of tomatoes to the soup kitchen yesterday morning. Knew he was gone a lot longer than it should have taken but what the hey-he was out of my hair. When he finally did come back in a couple of hours-the nut had backed into a truck at the soup kitchen-$2,200 worth of damage to the pick-up. Now he is telling everyone that was the most expensive sack of tomatoes he had ever grown. This morning he went to the doctor's office to pick up my prescripiton-took them a sack of tomatoes too. They are still coming in -about a bucket a day. I am going to miss the fresh ones. ____ Marsil in the Land of UFO's, Aliens, and weather balloons. Roswell, NM

Got a book on The Magruders for a 1.00 that took the line all the way to the 800 in Scotland. My Ramey line and Magruder line got connected thru the Barrett line etc etc. But that was the only successful hit I had thru the ILL system. I am going to try this week for some newspaper rolls in OH so will find out pdq just how good the system is.Wish I was there to take a couple bags of tomotoes off your hands. I love them so much.
