If you trace your Rainwater line back to the Solomon and Ruth Felton Rainwater issues, then you might want to consider a book published in 1983 by Eloise Groover Lovell who lived in Hermitage, TN which she titled the "RICHARD PHILLIPS FAMILY". This book is in many large libraries and archives. Richard and Delilah moved first to Gwinnett Co, GA and eventually to Forsyth Co, GA and he founded Haw Creek Baptist Church in 1841. It is still active but stands in danger of being swallowed by the Atlanta monolithic gulp. This book lists many associated families such as Echols, Major, Edmondson. Indeed, Junior Samples of "Hee Haw" fame was a decendant of Solomon Rainwater. Bet none of you folks knew that huh??? Just thought you might like to know about that book. As I have told Glidie, my wife and I both trace ancestry back to Rainwater, she thru James and me thru John, Jr. Mrs Lovell is now desceased but the book is a well researched effort.
