I have seen his middle name written several ways. My information came from my uncle, James T. Kent, James Alston's grandson, who knew his grandfather well as they lived in the same block in DeQuincy, LA for many years. Margaret Moore posted a copy of the inscription on his tombstone on Jan. 4, 1999 to this site and said James Alleson Rainwater, 11 Jan 1852 21 Feb 1947. I have also seen it written Allison. I have enjoyed all of the information that has been posted on the Rainwaters. James Allison R. was the son of Green Rainwater ;bn 11 Jan 1850 (Wn Co.,Ala) and died 21 Feb 1947 in Oretta,Beauregard,La.James Anderson was bn 1837 in Marietta,Cobb,Ga and died in 1877 in Morrilton,Conway,Ark, where his boys were living.
