    3. Hi Lyle, Yes, I remember an exchange of email with you some time ago. And I probably have failed to get back to you. I am still not working on the Rainwaters per se, but have been working on the Leabo/Lebow lines because I have been found by some distant cousins who are also working on these lines and they tie in closely to my Moore line for which I have accepted a compiler job for my g-g-g-g-grandfather's line. I have two Lebo/Leabo/Lebow ancestral lines and have been primarily working on the "other" one. I am just beginning to get the one connected to the Rainwaters (the Ray Co., Mo., line) organized and entered into the computer. When I get the file cleaned up, I will send you an update with more generations. I also have some data on the descendants of Daniel's other children. My "other" Lebo line is descended from John Lebo of Hawkins and Grainger Co., Tenn., whom I believe is possibly a brother of Daniel. His son Jacob W. Lebow took his family to Putnam Co., Ind., 1829-1836, then to Greene Co., Mo., 1836-1838, then in 1838 to the area became Lawrence Co., Mo., seven years later in 1845. Jeremiah and Lucinda (Rainwater) Leabo came here ca. 1870 and my g-gf Isaac Martin Lebow stayed and married in my home county of Lawrence. I have also been reminded that I used my old notes to say that John Nelson Rainwater was the son of Moses rather than James for which a case has been made. I don't know who his father was and shouldn't have used old theories. I haven't yet seen any original source document that identifies John's father. Having learned the hard way that family tradition, memories of past generations, and circumstantial evidence are not proof, I look for more evidence than that [for example, that my g-g-grandmother Lucinda Rainwater Leabo was Cherokee Indian and her father was Moses because he had females in his household her age in the 1840 census and was the only Rainwater in Ray Co. where she was married in 1846]. I hope this helps and we really need to keep in touch. I will need your help I am sure on Ashley Wynn and Rhoda's family. Ross Cameron >>> <BARJRAIN@aol.com> 04/18/99 02:58PM >>> Hi Ross I think I touched base with you last year but you were moving. I have been researching Rainwater and the Leabo name is one that comes up. I didn't know Jeremiah and Rhoda were siblings. do you have the names of the parents and other children. I have to get out some info and go over it. but I think think the Leabo name came up again after the family (Rainwater) had moved to Oregon. Lyle P.S. I haven't found anything definite that links John Berry and Alexander Martin to John and Barbara Rainwater either. ==== RAINWATER Mailing List ==== To post a message/inquiry use this address: rainwater-L@rootsweb.com To subscribe/unsubscribe use this address: rainwater-L-request@rootsweb.com ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
