She was one of possibily two illigitimate daughters of Daniel Ball. "I have also found Ball's will. In his will he specifically lists Nancy Christmas Rainwater as his daughter and bequeths her $1. He owned a 500 acre estate on Martin's Creek right on the county line where in 1822 Granville, Warren and Franklin met at a point. The Ball property ran alongside the Christmas property and it appears Nancy was an illegitimate daughter of one of the neighboring Christmas girls.
