Hi all, regarding the given name Miles: In my line thru William 1774-1825 who was bro to Miles 1787-1826 had a son Miles born 15 May 1818 at Faubush, Pulaski, KY dying in 1887....a Son of William above, named Bartholomew also had a son Miles, born 7 April 1836 at Pulaski Co., KY moving to Kansas and later to California having two dau's dying without issue in CA. Bartholomew also had a son Josiah W 1843-1934 who had a son Miles born 15 June 1876 at Waterloo, Pulaski Co., KY dying 1956. William 1774-1825 also had a son William Howard 1814-? who had a son Miles born 21 Oct 1843 at Somerset, Pulaski, KY dying 29 Sept 1927. William Howard 1814-? also had a son John Raleigh 1841-1910 who had a son Miles Evan 1863-1941 at Casey Co., KY dying 4 Jan 1941 at Heavener, Le Flore Co., OK........may be more but time for dinner.....but the bottom line is that the Kentucky line of Rainwater also carried the name Miles over several generations..........Might be interesting to know just how many family members were named Miles.....Seems to me that I also saw the name Miles Rainwater in a Nevada phone book at one time.
