Margaret Ann Rainwater was the 4th child of Moses Fowler Rainwater and Elizabeth Clay Oliver. Her siblings were Juliett Oliver, Katherine Clay, Charles Cisero, Sara Frances, James K.P., Amelia McPherson, Maude Love, Mary Elizabeth, Alice M., Harry, and MayBelle (12 children). The 1850 Census lists Catherine 15, Charles 12, Margaret 10, Sarah 8, James 6, Aurelia 4 and Mary 8 mos. Moses Fowler Rainwater was a minister, as well as a country doctor, and an interesting history was written about him in the "Rainwater Researcher". He was born in NC on 18 Jul 1804, moved to TN in 1822. Ordained deacon of M.E. Church at Athens, TN by Bishop Hedding 13 Nov 1831. Dr. Rainwater md. Elizabeth Oliver, dau of Chas. Y Oliver of Clinton, Anderson, TN 2 Oct 1832. (18th in records). He removed to Ray Co., MO in 1836, where he spent the remainder of his life...."
