Hi Bob and Rebecca, I've been working on the Pulaski Co,Ky Rainwater's recently. I'll give you what I've found so far on Stanton. His full name was Jeremiah Stanton P. Rainwater. He md 10 May 1852 in Wayne Co.,KY to Evy Tarter.He was age 19-1850 (bn 1831). She was age 38-1870 (bn 1832) They had 9 children; 1-Perry M-bn May 1853-md 1st Polly A. Stewart on 10 May 1874;they had 2 children-1-Charles Oland R.age 5 1880 was in Spanish American War- 22 US Inf. (Perry drew a pension based on his service) 2-William P-age 3 1880 Perry md 2nd Matilda Foster 1 May 1892 Pulaski Co.,Ky.They had 1 ch; Sam P-bn Sep 1895 Perry died 11 Jun 1913 (per pension record of Charles Oland R) 2-Oliver Wesley-bn Apr 1855 md 7 Oct 1883 to Margaret E.LaFaver 3-Laura B.-age 13 1870 4-Peter C-age 10 1870 5-Willis George bn Jun 1862 md Elvina_____? 6-Eliza D-age 2 1870 7-Margaret A.-age 10 1880 8-(f)Ell O-age 6-1880 9-John E.-age 3 1880 md Hulda_____? Jeremiah Stanton P Rainwater was the oldest child of Abraham and Anna (McLaughlin) Rainwater.Abraham and Anna had 8 children (that I know of right now) 1-Jeremiah Stanton P.-age 19 1850 (data given above) 2-Joisa (Joycie)-age 18 1850 3-Ephriam-age 15 1850-served Co G 32nd (or 52nd) Indiana Inf (drew an invalid's pension-#446372-filed 14 Apr 1882) I've found no mg for him. 4-Harden-age 13 1850 5-Sarah (Dorcas on 1860) age 9 1850 6-Abram-age 5 1850 7-Nancy Elizabeth-age 3 1850 8-Susan-age 9/12 1850 I've found Stanton's 2nd family in Dist 6 Whitley Co.,Ky on the `1900 census (Vol 75-ED 144 sh 9 line 65) Mattie Rainwater-age 27 bn May 1873 -Va Lorenzo D(ow) R. age 11 bn Oct 1888 (f)Clancy G.-age 9 bn Apr 1891 David G-age 7 bn Feb 1893 Thomas A-age 3 bn Feb 1897 This last birth year indicates that Stanton died in either 1896 or 1897. Which? I have some more-I just don't have it all pulled together yet. Have been working on all of William and Patsy (Hodge) Rainwater descendants. I had found Rebecca's message on genforum and had planned to answer it, but this will do just as well.
