She was born in Ohio and adopted by Wm. T. & Mattie E. Stevenson (also known as Stephenson) in IL at a few weeks of age. She was known by the name of "Maggie". Surname of Weddle has also been spelled Waddell, Weddell, and Waddle. The 1900 Douglas County census shows her surname still as Weddle at 11 years of age, even though it shows her as an adopted daughter. Am trying to find birth information as she is my grandmother and I know nothing about that side of my family. Any help will be greatly appreaciated. Thank you. Alice Kam
