I'll get the hang of this eventually. I'm more used to the typewriter. Robert and his wife Mourning (?) went to Stewart Co., Tn.His estate was settled in 1825 and Mourning was the executrix. along with Bartlet Posey.(Sarah Rainwater md his son Warren Monroe Posey).(GS#0554314-item 2 pg 11). Robert had evidently came to Stewart Co early because the deed from William Wyatt to him is dated 28 Mar 1822.(GS#0554331-Bk 7,pg 41) for 30 acres. In Aug 1824 Mourning is again in court for the settling of the estate which is given as $287.20, after all judgements against it had been paid. (GS#554314-Vol 3 pg 112; 132. After Robert's death she moved to Bedford Co.,Tn to be with her son Wesley and his wife Elizabeth Adcock. Mourning md in Bedford Co., to Andrew Mathis (Mathews) (on 1860 census Andrew-age 60 and Mourning- age 65(which puts her bn ca 1795) I believe the William and Nancy(?) Rainwater in Montgomery Co;the John H and Frances Bird(Byrd);Sarah and Warren Posey and Wesley and Elizabeth Adcock are brothers and sister. No definite proof yet-but still looking.Need to get into the early probate records and read page by page till I solve it. I haven't worked on the Stewart Co.,Tn Rainwater's for awhile. A short note on Rev. Miles of SC. A researcher from Ala is descended from Levingston(Livingston) Bobo who married Sarah Rainwater and she has as the wife of Rev Miles-Sally (Nancy) Hutchinson (nor parents given). Another note -Nancy Miles Rainwater widow of James,Sr is still in SC in 1840, listed as Ann-age 60-70(GS#0025511 pg 93). Nancy, widow of Miles is in age bracket 50-60 (pg 87).Sarah Williams R. widow of Benjamin and mother of Simon P.-who died at age 26-is on pg 103. The widow of Miles moves to Ala after the final settlement of his estate. His estate papers begin in GS#1022782 Vol B2-Real Estate Book -pg 22-26 and final distribution of his estate lists all the children; GS#1022786-pg 22); Nancy Rainwater-widow (she's marked paid) Jane Rainwater-(she doesn't show any money paid) Mary Bobo-paid (she's the wife of Spencer Bobo Miles Rainwater-paid Milly (Amelia)Rainwater-paid Vashti Rainwater-paid Mariah Rainwater-paid Silas Mercer Rainwater is not named in this final distribution. Had he already recieved his share? Silas was bn 25 Jul 1824-just shortly before Miles died. Silas md Mary Jane Hindman. Jane Amanda md 20 Mar 1845 William Wilburn Waldrop Miles md Sarah Edwards. Milly md William M. Compton. Vashti md David J. Crossley Mariah md Pumphrey Langford(Lankford) Final settlement on William Edwards estate (GS#1022786-item 2 Real Estate Dash Book-pg 17-18)lists William Edwards, Milly Edwards ;Heirs of Isaac Edwards, deceased as 1-Nancy Rainwater;2-George Edwards and 3-Newman Edwards. The heirs of Isaac have as their guardian-Francis Edwards. This was dated 5 Dec 1836. The contention was over 128 acres of land sold to William Edwards for $600.00 and the admr's wanted the money to settle the estate. I have more-will have to go through my files. Glidie (Rainwater) Mobley ------=_NextPart_000_01BE3D9E.3D27D3E0--
