    3. Pertaining to Hal Irving's message (below). He mentioned Silas Mercer Rainwater. From what I have been able to determine, Silas lived in Lamar/Fayette/Marion counties Alabama the rest of his life. The list of his children seems rather elusive. Anyone have a list of them to share ? My file identifies his wife as Nancy Miles but expect that was typo error.....Miles was ordained a Baptist Minister at the Cedar Shoal Church in 1817. He owned several hundred acres along Cedar Shoal Creek. He and wife had seven children (record says): Mary; Miles; Milly; Vashti; Mariah; Silas Mercer; and Jane Amanda. Around 1835 Miles' widow, Nancy moved with her children to Fayette Co., AL This Miles was bro to my William Rainwater 3 Jan 1774 Surry Co NC to Jan 1825 Pulaski Co KY. Other siblings were: Solomon Rainwater 1765-1824 Elizabeth Rainwater 1769-1850 William Rainwater 1774-1825 Abraham Rainwater 1784-? John Rainwater dates? (2nd Company 14th Brigade Rifleman, War of 1812 Moses Rainwater no dates (Johnson Co Tax Rolls) Female Rainwater (perhaps Alcy who marr John Bowles, Bertie Co., NC Female Rainwater no dates....... Hal, from foggy Northern california!
