Preston, not knowing just how much you have looked for some of the history into Alsey Raines can I ask a Question or two. In the 1790 census there is a Enuch Rains listed. There also Rains in Cumberland,Anson,Johnston,Hyde,Duplin and Wake Counties. Of course Randolph Co. which I claim. All my search was prior to 1806 in Randolph so I can't help there.
